The gospel is…the word about Jesus Christ and what he did for us in order to restore us to a right relationship with God. – Graeme Goldsworthy

Back in the Saddle

Well, we've moved into our new home and recently arrived back from vacation. For the foreseeable future, this blog will have the following two purposes. First, I will continue to post quotes that have the ability and potential to grip your heart for the gospel. Second, I also intend to address societal issues and ask, "How does the gospel speak to this?"

For today, here's a quote I recently read in the introduction to the City of God by Saint Augustine. It's simple, but I was blessed by reading it.

Christianity is the life and death and resurrection of Christ going on day after day in the souls of individual men and in the heart of society. – "Introduction," by Thomas Merton in Augustine's City of God (Random House: New York, 1950: xiii)
